At 7-3/8?‚´ long and with a height of 2-1/2?‚´, this relatively large arm back provides both a perfect visual balance for lamps that have long, straight arms that support lights as well as enough mass to help stabilize any example of a large, tall and broad floor lamp. Because it has a 1/4?‚´-27 thread, it can also be easily adapted to a variety of fixtures.

Though the addition of a stylized arm back to a lamp may seem like an unnecessary feature to some, the simple truth is that no properly restored period piece is complete without them, especially considering that the designers of the day placed a special emphasis on emulating natural near-symmetry in most of their art, architecture, and even appliances.
