The 1/4” - 27 thread bulb adapter enables washer type shades to fit over a light bulb. This makes them useful for projects where the socket, bulb, and power system of a lamp with a washer type shade has been enlarged or in situations where such a shade is being added to a lamp that has not been otherwise modified. These bulb adapters can be easily attached to any neck, body, or other adapter with a complementary thread, allowing for the easy replacement of shades or conversion of lamps from non-electrical configurations that utilized glass chimneys to electrical ones that require washer type shades.
