Weights are used to lower a lamp’s center of gravity, thereby reducing the chances that it will tip over if bumped or pushed. They can save floor or table lamps that are near busy thoroughfares from routine damage as, more often than not, children and pets show such pieces little regard and collide with them frequently. Weights are also used to help stabilize top-heavy lamps that may have been built with extensive decorations or oversized arms and shades.
We carry several cast iron weights, including ones that have 3-3/8”, 4-½”, 5”, 6”, 6-¾” 9-½”, and 10-½” diameters and weigh between 1 and 5 lbs. Each is also tapped for 1/4” or 1/8” IP.
