Lamp Nipples

A nipple is a type of pipe fitting that is threaded through and used to connect two other fittings. Normally a nipple will have two male threaded ends and, with the case of so-called ‘close- nipples, will be entirely threaded, however nipples with hexagon heads have unthreaded sections that are designed for contact with wrenches. Shoulder nipples also have breaks in their threading.

Because many parts that are used to make up a working lamp require the tight connection of two parts that have female threads, we offer brass, steel, brass shoulder, and steel hexagon head nipples. Our brass nipples come in lengths from 1/2” to 36” and with 1/8” or 1/2” IPS threads. With lengths between 1/2” and 12”, our steel nipples are threaded to 1/4”, 1/8”, and 3/8” IPS. We also offer brass shoulder and steel hexagon head nipples with threads of 1/8” IPS. Please note that IPS thread size are not equivalent to Inch Measurements. For complete thread sizing, check out FAQ section.
